Dead or Alive 4 (FEMALE)

Opening up the matches for the night, BERLIN ALLIANZ’s popular Dead or Alive Female, Liefje, battled the UNDERGROUND’s Eileen in a Kokoro mirror match, on Waterfall Valley. Liefje came charging out of the gate, destroying Eileen for four straight rounds. Despite the fact that Eileen was usually sending Liefje off of the bridge for the long trip down to the river, Liefje still kept control with the mix ups until Eileen was able to pick up her first round. Liefje fought back quickly though, closing the game off 5-1, a solid start on the scoreboard for the ALLIANZ.

FIFA 08

Second in line was the soccer match, with Haroutig10 as France, against Manyna as Brazil. Haroutig10 struck first, smashing in a goal before the first minute mark, resulting in furious cheers from the UNDERGROUND bench. Manyna was able to tie the match up at the 2:41 mark, allowing the score to sit at 1-1 until half time. The second half seemed quiet until Manyna passed the ball towards the front of the net, where his striker fired off a gorgeous goal, making the score 2-1 without much room left for Haroutig10 to tie. The score held until the end of the game, giving the ALLIANZ a few more points to pad the lead.

Dead or Alive 4 (MALE)

Next up, the UNDERGROUND’s Berzerk faced off against former ALLIANZ captain and resident Berliner, THE_TACTICAL. The match became a hot mess for Berzerk with shocking swiftness, as THE_TACTICAL’s Hayabusa absolutely stomped Berzerk’s Lei Fang for five straight brutal rounds on Kyoto in Bloom. Berzerk only looked to have had the fourth round, but failed to close it out, allowing THE_TACTICAL to walk away with the devastating 5-0 win.

FORZA Motorsport 2

The race began with a dead sprint to the first turn, where MORPO slammed himself into FinPro, accidentally blocking his teammate Cam for a brief second in the process. Cam, chasing behind YggdrasiL, made a move forward, but YggdrasiL was able to stay ahead, as Cam fell to the back of the pack. Despite some battling at the back, the final order reflected that at the end of the first lap, with YggdrasiL in first, MORPO in second, FinPro in third, and Cam speeding in from the rear.

The UNDERGROUND team was in a nearly impossible position, essentially needing a blow out win to even think about tying the overall match. It didn’t look very possible, especially after they repeatedly bashed their collective heads into the brick wall that was the ALLIANZ’s A site for two rounds. The UNDERGROUND, out of the overall match, somehow found a second wind in the half, going on to take four of the nine rounds, with the half ending 5-4 in the ALLIANZ’s favor.

The second half looked a bit better for the UNDERGROUND, as they had won quite a few rounds straight off, but the ALLIANZ began to smash through the UNDERGROUND’s defense, abusing both sites to tie the match, 8-8. The ALLIANZ moved into B, where they were able to frag their way to the 9-8 game point, before hitting A, where they stumbled in the face of a 10-8 win, being cut down before planting the bomb, allowing the UNDERGROUND to force an overtime round. The teams swapped sides, and the UNDERGROUND stormed the banana towards B, where a chorus of desert eagle shots rang out, leaving a single ALLIANZ member against three UNDERGROUND players. The UNDERGROUND players moved the bomb back to the A site, planting the bomb, where they baited in majk, cutting him down in pistol fire to win the round and the game. A nice consolation prize for their World Final exit.

Dead or Alive 4 (MALE)

At the pivotal point of the match, the struggling superstar, Master, faced off against the rising star, NinjaCW, as Hayabusa and Gen Fu respectively on Seaside Market. Master won three straight rounds, staying a few steps ahead of NinjaCW, until the fourth round, where NinjaCW kept Master perpetually in air, plowing through a number of strings to take a Greatest. NinjaCW had a strong start to the fifth round, before nearly allowing a comeback, but managed to pick up a second point. Master had a strong start to the following round, but somehow faltered, allowing NinjaCW to steal the round out from under him, tying the match up 3-3. Master began playing a tighter match for the next two rounds, closing out the match 5-3, breaking his recent post-season losing streak.

FIFA 08

Second in line for the match was Barmoa taking on the 2008 standout FIFA player Stermy, as France and England respectively. The first half featured a few missed opportunities, until Barmoa managed to bring a striker up right in front of the net, beating the keeper out and firing off the game’s first goal. Stermy began setting up some impressive attempts, but fell victim to the offsides calls back to back. Barmoa’s 1-0 remarkably held up until the end of the first half, despite Stermy’s offensive attempts. The second half was equally as eventful, with Barmoa nearly scoring an empty net goal after Stermy’s keeper decided to move out of the net to do his taxes or something equally as arbitrary. Somehow, despite the fact that Stermy had taken permanent residence in Barmoa’s defensive zone, Barmoa’s 1-0 score held until the end of the match.

Dead or Alive 4 (FEMALE)

The rematch to end all rematches, the formerly untouchable Vanessa faced off against her kryptonite, Phoenix, as Hitomi and Gen Fu respectively on Gamblers Paradise. Vanessa dominated the first round outright, looking as if she had awakened the beast, finally. Phoenix fought back in the second round, leading to the ladies trading rounds back and forth until Vanessa had the better part of a 3-2 score. Vanessa moved herself to game point, but Phoenix’s catch grabs and solid counters kept her alive for another round. Vanessa finally turned on her world class skill, destroying Phoenix quickly for the first time in two matches to close out the game 5-3.

FORZA Motorsport 2

The opening game of the match seemed to have a decent start for the VENOM despite the odds. The VENOM racers began the FORZA race in the despised 1 and 2 positions on the grid. While CHA0S fell to the rear, Muffinman had led the pack for the first lap, until the OPTX racers made a move against him, placing him in second place, and his teammate CHA0S in third. Muffinman and Miximup began battling back and forth for first place, as SACKAMONJARO made his way back to third. Muffinman’s lead fell apart as Miximup and SACKAMONJARO sandwiched Muffinman, pulling away just in time to stay ahead of CHA0S, who moved into second place. The final order was SACKAMONJARO, CHA0S, Muffinman, and Miximup. A fairly even start to the match.

Counter-Strike Source

Heading into the final game of the match, the Individual World Champions, the VENOM, faced off against the OPTX, on de_dust2, despite the fact that they had just played against the SALVO on de_dust2 on Saturday. The VENOM had the defensive side for the first half, taking Counter-Terrorist. Dominator had pushed up the cat walk the first round, catching the OPTX team off guard, leading towards the VENOM taking the point. The OPTX moved up cat walk, smoking the entrance to A, forcing the two AWPer’s at long to focus on the smoke. A member of the OPTX jumped into CT spawn, catching the VENOM snipers off guard, leading to tie the match 1-1. Despite Paradox finally stepping it up and winning 1vs1s and 1vs3s, the VENOM took the first half 6-3.

The second half opened up well for the OPTX, as the VENOM ran into CT spawn almost in a single filed line, dying to rifle fire in the order they had left spawn. The VENOM made it up cat walk the following round, planting in A despite the fact that the OPTX still had control of long A, and died to the retake, allowing the OPTX to go up 2-0 in the second half. The OPTX destroyed the VENOM for another four rounds, before the VENOM finally won a point on offense. The VENOM looked unbelievably sloppy, putting together some of the worst rounds they have had all season. The following round, the VENOM ran out of long A, where they completely fell apart, allowing the OPTX to win the game, the match, and a spot in the semi’s of the World Final.

Venom did not get what they deserved this season..this was truly a fluke loss...

Jax will probably protect 3/5 cs tho and the Doa squad so next year should be good too.

Grats Optx. I probably will cheer for salvo to win it all now tho

CGS: please make the season 2-3 matches longer next year or atleast space it out more, this all went by too fast

OptX CS team just took a little longer than others to gel. They are really starting to come together as a team now.

#11 ah ok so those wins were flukes, and this one wasn't. oh, the irony.

the 13-5 must've been the biggest fluke ever.

The optx's win tonight wasn't a fluke, they just knew what needed to be done tonight and they did it! Both teams did a good job and it was tied until css! Saying thats a fluke is pretty ridiculous since Venom has the best css team!
