L.A. Complexity GM Jason Lake Releases Marcus “zet” Sundstrom, Signs Corey “Hanes” Hanes
Dallas Venom GM Alex Conroy Signs Justin “sunman” Summy to Starting Roster, Sends Carson “Classified” Holt to Taxi Squad
Championship Gaming Series™ (CGS), the only worldwide professional video gaming league, announced a series of player substitutions in its North America team rosters. With just two weeks remaining before the start of the 2008 North America Regular Season, General Managers in the CGS North America region are making final adjustments to their lineups.
L.A. Complexity GM Jason Lake released Counter-Strike:Source (CS:S) starter Marcus “zet” Sundstrom and sent him into the CGS North America free-agent pool. Lake signed Carolina Core CS:S backup player Corey “Hanes” Hanes to a starting position on L.A. Complexity’s CS:S squad.
“Complexity has always been like a family and losing a family member is never easy,” said L.A. Complexity GM Jason Lake, “but our team will never settle for an effort less than 110% or an attitude less than the heart of a champion. We’re happy to welcome a world-class CS:S player to our world-class squad; Hanes understands the Complexity mantra and will deliver for us in 2008.”
Dolven has filled Hanes’ vacant spot on the Core taxi squad by signing free agent Gary “funshine” Laurita.
In other moves, Dallas Venom GM Alex Conroy sent Carson “Classified” Holt to the Dallas Venom taxi squad and signed L.A. Complexity backup CS:S veteran Justin “sunman” Summy to a starting position on Dallas Venom’s CS:S squad. After receiving an offer to sign Summy from Conroy, Lake waived Summy to Dallas prior to his decision to release Sundstrom.
“I am thrilled to have Justin joining Dallas Venom. He is a player with a rich history of success in both versions of Counter-Strike. He is an “X” factor whose results cannot be denied, whether it be his many past victories with Complexity or his extremely solid play with Chicago Chimera in the 2007 season. He brings a wealth of knowledge about CS and has demonstrated, time and again, that he can play in high-pressure situations. We can’t wait to begin as we are all sure that Justin will become an invaluable asset on the Dallas roster.”
To make room on the bench for Holt, Conroy released Derek “exodus” Heidinger to the CGS North America Free Agent Pool.
To fill the spot formerly occupied by Summy, Lake has called upon Griffin “Shaguar” Benger to step up and join the L.A. Complexity taxi squad from the CGS North America Free Agent Pool.

So the reason Lake picked hanes is because Jax was first at picking sunman?

#1 Not totally. Under the rules, once Jax claimed Sunman from LA's taxi squad, Lake had an opportunity to "block" the move by placing Summy in his own starting roster and replacing one of his own starters.

I doubt pham would work well with coL but picking up hanes was a horrible decision. He's nowhere near the calibre player that zet or sunman is.
I bet zet being let go was a joint decision though. You can tell he wants to get back to the european CS scene. |

I'm also surprised about a lack of Pham.
However, team dynamic can sometimes be more important than sheer skill and I don't know what was taken into consideration for these choices. VERY INTERESTED THO. Zet, GL bro! PS WILL WE SEE BOTH PLAYERS IN THE TRAINING CAMP TONIGHT?! Last modified on 5/22/2008 at 2:27 pm EST CGS Broadcaster & Producer WAR: Styles (Server: Drifting Castle) >> RIP epileptic-gaming.com |

I'm happy to see the taxi system being utilized, but feel sorry for the players that were let go. Good Luck to all competitors old and new.

So...does that mean Hanes is salaried as a protected player? Does someone else get the extra cash? Or does the cgs just get to pocket it for next season?
